Land of the silver birch,
Home of the beaver
Where still the mighty moose
Wanders at will.
Blue lake and rocky shore,
I will return once more.
Boom de de boom boom,
Boom de de boom boom,
Boom de de boom boom, boo-oo-oom.

My heart is sick for you,
Here in the lowlands,
I will return to thee,
Hills of the north.
Swift as the silver fish,
Canoes of birch bark,
Thy mighty waterways
Carry me forth.

The birch is silver as a spool of grandma’s hair, but is fragile and yet strong.
Here where the blue lake lies,
I’ll set my wigwam,
Close to the water’s edge,
Silent and still.
